On Saturday last week, our colleague and friend Markus Bütler passed away forever surrounded by his family. He succumbed to the consequences of a brain tumor. We mourn and remember his dedicated and life-affirming nature, which he was able to maintain until the end.
After a serious illness, our valued colleague and friend Markus Bütler passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, surrounded by his family.
Markus has been working at terre des hommes schweiz since September 2008 and was initially responsible for the Tanzania country program and the projects in Western Sahara. From 2010, he built up our country program in Zimbabwe and played a key role in shaping it. In Markus, we are losing a warm and very popular colleague and a committed employee who knew how to get people excited about our work.
We are sad and at the same time grateful for the time we spent together. We would like to express our sincere condolences to Markus’ family.
