terre des hommes schweiz invites you: What are the demands for the protection of young migrants at international level and in Switzerland? These and similar questions will be explored with international guests at the “Hard at the Border” conference on November 4 in Bern.
Young migrants all over the world are at risk of being exploited and abused. This not only applies to children and young people in developing countries whose fundamental rights are violated. Young migrants in Europe and Switzerland are also at risk. However, legislation, its interpretation and public opinion do not take these dangers into account.
For this reason, terre des hommes schweiz and Terre des hommes – Children’s Aid are inviting you to the “Hard on the Border” conference as part of the “Destination Unknown” campaign.
Guests from home and abroad
Six speakers from home and abroad will shed light on various aspects of this topic. Among others, Cécilia Pocasangre from the terre des hommes schweiz partner organization ACISAM (El Salvador) will speak about migration as a challenge for youth work in El Salvador. Ignacio Packer, Secretary General of Terre des Hommes International Federation, will report on his experiences from the “UN High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development”, which will take place in New York on Friday, October 4.
What remains to be done?
Discuss the protection of young migrants with us. What demands for the protection of young migrants exist at international level? What solutions have been successful in other countries? What measures are necessary in Switzerland?
Unfortunately, the registration deadline has passed.
