Our project in Western Sahara
Since 1975, over 100,000 Saharawi refugees have been living in camps around the Algerian town of Tindouf. They fled from Western Sahara when the territory was occupied by Morocco and are now waiting for a sustainable political solution.
Solidarity with young people in the forgotten conflict
The Sahrawi refugee camps in the Algerian desert have existed for over 40 years. The living conditions in the desert area are inhospitable and the future of the Sahrauis is still uncertain. The young people in the refugee camps in particular lack prospects. Our partner organisation UJSARIO Smara organises leisure courses, promotes open youth work and strengthens the cultural identity of the Sahrawi youth.
