Brazil-Europe: What comes after growth?

Invitation to "Round Table Brazil 2014 - Farewell to the compulsion to grow?
At this year's conference, speakers from Brazil and Germany will discuss questions about (post)growth in Brazil and Europe. What perspectives and ideas do Brazil's young people have?

Brazil shone for a long time with impressive economic growth and it was said that Brazil was the "country of the future". But economic growth alone is no guarantee for a successful future. A rigid look at national economic figures ignores many environmental problems and social factors. This discrepancy and what answers to it are being formulated in Brazil and Europe will be the subject of the conference "Round Table Brazil 2014".
Youth movements: Sustainability for social inclusion
The debate about the future of the country necessarily includes a look at the youth. What perspectives and scope for action does Brazil's youth have and do they use them? Annette Mokler, Programme Coordinator Brazil at terre des hommes schweiz, will moderate the discussion forum "Youth Protagonism in Brazil - Active against political disenchantment". She will also speak about her practical experience with youth movements from the country. These youth movements see sustainability as the key to social inclusion.
Balance sheet, solution models and utopias?
The speakers from Brazil and Germany will give an insight into current (post) growth developments at the conference. The three-day event will focus on questions such as: What expectations does the Brazilian population have of the newly elected President Dilma Rousseff after times of protest? What is the balance sheet of the voters after twelve years of government of the Workers Party PT? And what solution models, utopias and concepts do parties and social movements currently have to offer?
