The fundraising expert and political scientist from Bern, born in 1969, has worked in well-known regional, national and international non-profit organizations. He was on assignment in the Middle East and Southeast Asia for several years.

Reto Mischler, born in 1969, studied political science, communication and economics at the University of Bern. He then trained as a qualified fundraiser at the VMI Institute for Association Management in Fribourg and gained expertise in leadership, management and corporate communications. For some time now, he has held management positions in regional, national and international organizations. He spent several years working in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Professional stations at home and abroad
From 2007 to 2011, Reto Mischler was Head of Communications, Fundraising and Finance as well as a member of the Executive Board at Caritas Bern. From 2011 to 2014, he worked as Head of Communications and Fundraising at Caritas Baby Hospital in Jerusalem, focusing on the participatory development of perspectives for young people.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked in Hanoi, Vietnam as a consultant and specialist for communication, fundraising and organizational strategy for local partner organizations of Bread for the World. Most recently, from 2017 to 2021, he was Head of Communications and Fundraising at the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) Canton of Bern, where he developed a successful communications and fundraising strategy.
At terre des hommes schweiz, Reto Mischler heads a team of nine in the field of communication and fundraising. Reto Mischler has three children and lives with his family in Bern. He grew up in the canton of Lucerne.
