Health and safety come first: In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the imagine crew has decided to cancel the imagine festival in June. Instead, “a big kick-off to the anniversary year” is to take place this fall, according to imagine. Next year marks the anniversary of the project by young people for young people. The anniversary edition of the imagine festival is set to take place in Basel on June 4 and 5, 2021. imagine is a project by terre des hommes schweiz.

“imagine has been setting an example for diversity and youth culture in the heart of the city of Basel since 2001. On On June 5 and 6, the 19th imagine Festival should have taken place under the slogan “At eye level”. Due to the current situation with the novel coronavirus, the imagine project coordination team has decided to cancel this year’s imagine Festival.
Due to the current situation with the novel coronavirus, the project coordination team at Project imagine has decided that the imagine Festival 2020, which was due to take place on June 5 and 6 on Barfüsserplatz in Basel, cannot go ahead.
The health and safety of visitors and everyone involved in the imagine Festival is the top priority for the project coordinators. This early cancellation is also necessary in order to prevent high financial losses and avoid planning uncertainties for imagine and the supporting organization terre des hommes schweiz.
imagine looks back on a successful few months in which our workshops and events have reached numerous people with our thematic focus. Even in the summer, imagine will not disappear from the scene. The team will continue to work with the annual theme of “Encounter”, which will be dealt with under the slogan “At eye level”. Imagine will use the next few months to facilitate digital encounters on social media and thus continue to raise public awareness for diversity and against discrimination.
