We empower young people in Switzerland and promote diversity, critical thinking and intercultural exchange. We create safe spaces in which young people can actively shape their future – regardless of their background or the reality of their lives.
The self-organised youth project imagine Basel, in which young adults campaign for more diversity and against discrimination through workshops, awareness-raising events and a festival started over 20 years ago.
Terre des Hommes Education’s workshops at schools raise young people’s awareness of global challenges. They not only develop critical thinking, but also a strong awareness of their own influence and scope for action.
In the MePower project, terre des hommes schweiz helps young people with a refugee background to discover their strengths and make new contacts – in a safe environment and with professional support. Intercultural exchange with young people without a refugee background is also encouraged in order to strengthen mutual understanding and cohesion.
Baobab Books promotes cultural diversity in children’s and young adult literature. This specialist organisationis committed to an open society, respect for people from different backgrounds and equal opportunities. At the centre of their work is the promotion of reading and literature, with books acting as a bridge for intercultural exchange and a way to impart social values.
