On Saturday last week, our colleague and friend Markus Bütler fell asleep forever with his family. He succumbed to the consequences of a brain tumour. We mourn and remember his committed and life-affirming manner, which he was able to maintain until the end.
After a serious illness, our esteemed colleague and friend Markus Bütler fell peacefully asleep on Saturday 16 July with his family.
Markus joined terre des hommes switzerland in September 2008 and was initially responsible for the country programme Tanzania and the projects in Western Sahara. From 2010 onwards, he built up and significantly shaped our country programme in Zimbabwe. With Markus we are losing a warm and very popular colleague and a committed employee who impressively understood how to inspire people for our work.
We are sad and at the same time grateful for the time we spent together. We express our sincere sympathy to the family of Markus.
