The renowned painter Priska Medam invites you to the 2nd Mixed Art Basel next weekend. In addition to her own paintings, nine other artists will be showing their works at this charity exhibition in a sophisticated setting. Part of the proceeds will go to terre des hommes schweiz.
Next weekend (March 22 and 23), the 2nd Mixed Art will take place at the Basel Art Center. As curator of this weekend exhibition, the renowned painter Priska Medam would like to give some artists the opportunity to come into direct contact with people interested in art. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the exhibits and greeting cards will be donated to terre des hommes schweiz.
Without galleries
The focus is on artists with different styles. In contrast to usual exhibitions, it is not galleries that exhibit here, but the artists themselves. They come from the cantons of Basel, Baselland, Solothurn, Bern, Thurgau, Zurich and some from Germany. Mixed Art at the Basel Art Center is therefore not just about Basel art. “Our aim is to facilitate direct encounters between the artists and visitors,” says Priska Medam.
Painting, music, culinary delights and a good cause
The exhibition at the Basel Art Center (Hall 33) will open on Friday evening with a vernissage for invited guests. On Saturday and Sunday, the exhibition will be open to all interested parties. On Saturday afternoon, the event will be accompanied by music from RAFSONIFY. Singer and author Cindy Blum from Germany will be performing at the finissage.
Reflecting life
Priska Medam’s works are expressive. They reflect life – the intensity of being and the fleetingness of the moment. And they convey a positive view of life. Priska Medam started painting when her children attended a painting course. She discovered an inner passion for art and soon developed her own mixed media technique using sand and paint.
Successful artist
Priska Medam has been exhibiting her work in numerous galleries in Switzerland and abroad for five years. Last year, her works were on display at REDDOT Miami. She was also represented at the Private Art Exhibit at the Artisan Festival International in Cannes. This year she is showing some of her paintings at Gallery ARTIFACT and ARTEXPO in New York as well as in Belgium, in Cannes and at SPECTRUM in Miami.
