The renowned painter Priska Medam invites you to the 2nd Mixed Art Basel next weekend. In addition to her own paintings, nine other artists will be showing their works at this charity exhibition in an upscale ambience. Part of the proceeds will go to terre des hommes schweiz.
Next weekend (22 and 23 March) the 2nd Mixed Art will take place at the Basel Art Center. The renowned painter Priska Medam, as curator of this weekend exhibition, would like to give some artists the opportunity to get in direct contact with people interested in art. A part of the proceeds from the sale of the exhibits and the greeting cards will be donated to terre des hommes schweiz.
Without galleries
The focus is on artists with different styles. In contrast to usual exhibitions, it is not galleries that exhibit here, but the artists themselves. They come from the cantons of Basel, Baselland, Solothurn, Bern, Thurgau, Zurich and some from Germany. Mixed Art at the Basel Art Center will therefore not only show Basel art. "Our aim is to enable direct encounters between the artists and visitors," says Priska Medam.
Painting, music, culinary delights and a good cause
The exhibition in the Basel Art Center (Hall 33) will open on Friday evening with a vernissage for invited guests. On Saturday and Sunday the exhibition will be open to all interested parties. On Saturday afternoon the event will be accompanied musically by RAFSONIFY. At the finissage the singer and author Cindy Blum from Germany will perform.
Reflecting life
The works of Priska Medam are expressive. They reflect life - the intensity of being and the fleetingness of the moment. And they convey a positive view of life. Priska Medam started painting when her children attended a painting course. She discovered an inner passion for art and very soon developed her own mixed technique of sand and colours.
Successful artist
For five years Priska Medam has been presenting her works in numerous galleries in Switzerland and abroad. Last year her works were shown at REDDOT Miami. She was also represented in Cannes at the Private Art Exhibit at the Artisan Festival International. This year she is showing some of her paintings at the ARTIFACT Gallery and ARTEXPO in New York as well as in Belgium, in Cannes and at the SPECTRUM in Miami.
