Invitation:
On Saturday, 23 August 2014, over 70 unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people from the Lilienberg Centre in Affoltern am Albis are inviting all interested parties to their self-organized summer party. The party is intended to provide an opportunity to get to know the young people in a relaxed atmosphere. Following last year’s open day, this is the second event organized by this project with migrant minors in Affoltern.
In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk in the media about underage migrants from Central and South America who are trying to come to the USA. What has been completely forgotten in all the reporting on the USA is that there are also unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in Switzerland.
Bringing their lives in Switzerland to light
They live at the Lilienberg Centre (run by the specialist organization AOZ) in Affoltern am Albis, among other places, and come from various places in crisis areas around the world and largely lead a shadowy existence in Switzerland. To showcase their lives in Switzerland and better integrate them into local structures, terre des hommes schweiz launched the MNA project (MNA mineurs non accompagnés) in 2012.
Summer party with sport, music and dance
Following last year’s open day organized with terre des hommes schweiz and young people from imagine, the young people at the Lilienberg center are once again inviting anyone interested to get to know them and their home. The summer festival is largely planned, organized and implemented by the children and young people. Let yourself be surprised by the program of sports, music and dance as well as the tasty food!
terre des hommes schweiz will once again be present with a stand at the Lilienberg. We and the MNA Centre Lilienberg would be delighted to welcome you to the summer festival!
